CBD oil for pain

Posted by timfitz @timfitz, Jul 19, 2016

After trying opiates, and lyrica, and mostly just suffering I tried sublingual CBD which is from the marijuana plant, but has no THC in it, you don't get high. It was very very effective. Not only did it reduce my pain at least 75%, it has a calming effect on the anxiety produced in those of us with chronic pain by the fact we have it. I do recommend it.... Be sure it is from a reliable source. You don't need to smoke anything or get high.

I use a spray CBD oil purchased over the counter for pain from arthritis. It's wonderful but if one has AFIB or have had open heart surgery can one take oral CBD or will it effect the blood thinner ? I have had different responses by just googling the info and I am hoping a member from Mayo chat has a answer. The rheumatologist recommended the medical cannabis and my cardiologist said he is not familiar with cannabis and if the rheumatologist knowing all my meds recommended it he did not see a problem using it. I do take the medical tincture cannabis at night and it works wonderful....ends the pain and allows me to get at least 5 hours sleep.I do want to take the CBD oral during the day for the pain and anxiety but would like info from Mayo Chat group. Thank you !
Basically...does CBD effect Xarelto and make my blood even thinner ?

I also would like to hear a professional's opinion.
Stevia or Indigo for pain during the day (fribromyalgia & chronic pain syndrome) how much and how often.
Which to take at night (sleep disorder) and how much?
My doctors here are fine with me getting my card but have absolutely no clue as how to use it.

Sorry for the late reply.
I do not know the amount you can take. Are you taking medical cannabis or the over the counter kind? If you are taking the medical cannabis the people that dispense the item can advise you best, there are hundreds of cannabis items.
Volttaren creme is a common cream for pain and a prescription is needed. My rheumatologist said I can spray the CBD oil over the voltaren cream. I use the medical cannabis at night, taking half a dropper for pain and to sleep, sometimes it is not enough and I wake and take a little more.I very seldom use the medical cannabis during the day as I seem to have problems with the THC in any amount. I go through many bottles of the spray over the counter CBD Daily oil though. The weather plays a big factor with the amount of pain.I've had steroid injections and I don't think I will have anymore. There's a new procedure that freezes or burns the nerves to stop the pain but I have heard that that procedure should really be considered since the nerves could be permanently damaged. I hope you get some relief soon.

I will be taking medical marijuana from a dispensary. I went to the dispensary in my town and no one working there had a clue other than daytime night time. Very difficult to find a starting place for pain and sleep. I keep hearing "Start low and go slow".

I use the CBD oil from Hemp. A reliable company is Hempworx. Start with limited drops ...about three twice a day. Gradually work your way up. After a few months, I am now taking 10 drops twice a day and will increase again fairly soon. I can share more, if you wish.

Will this help with pain and anxiety during the day and sleep at night? How is this different from regular CBD? What potincy is the CBD from hemp? Any and all information appreciated.

If you're not familiar with pot you're in for an education. Do not smoke it. Spend the big bucks and buy the expensive personal vaporizer, three to four hundred dollars. Use it on the lowest setting that it has and take very small doses in the beginning. You will build a tolerance very quickly but if you go to quickly with this vaporizing thing you're going to scare your pants off especially if you're not familiar with marijuana and even if you are familiar with marijuana this is not the marijuana of the 60s and 70s it's not even the marijuana of the 80s and 90s and 2000's. Vaporizing is a whole new game. You can get the equivalent of a whole joint in one small Puff. It may not take your pain away but it'll give you something else to think about, like how much money you're blowing on it. Good luck have fun, love and blessings

You wan to get the Indica.....I use the Indica tincture mix for sleep and pain.....during the day I use just CBD tincture, if there is a latge % of any THC in it I can't tolerate it.....Indica is calming and staiva is more for depression.....I tired an equal amount of THC and he CBD oil but that was not for me. Those at the dispensary say that smoking the cannabis effects the pain the fastest. I tried it one day and really did not want to smoke it again...the tincture's are the best for me even the Indica edibles worked well for sleep and pain. And, although it's medical , insurance does not cover it and it is very expensive especially when trying to find out what works best. It's a cash business, no credit or debit cards, strictly cash.

I also have fibromyalgia and the indica tincture at night works wonders......I take half of the dropper , if I wake and feel any pain I will take a little more.....the CBD 100 % tincutre is normally during the day, I take 2 sprays and I'm good but I still use the CBD spray on my knee..You really have to try different amounts and just like pres. meds you have to see what works for you.

Hello, I am new to this site and look forward to a long and healthy relationship with the group. In reading some of the posts, I see where some of you have tried CBD and with very good results. I read a long article on it last night and it said it is legal in all 50 states. I would love to try it but I want to be sure that it comes from a reliable source, Can anyone tell me where I can get this product. I have chronic pain from back issues, abdominal hernias ( many repairs ) severe IBS, arthritis in back, legs, hips, both shoulders, and both hands. Right now I look 7 months pregnant due to numerous abdominal hernias. I am also borderline diabetic and take metformin with good results. thanks for reading my post. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I find it confusing when people use the term CBD oil. Do they mean from hemp or marijuana? I am using hemp which I have heard is more effective. I started with 500 but now am at 750 , 10 drops twice a day. Calming, helpfup for pain.

I'm scared to death of it - I had a very bad reaction (vertigo, blinding headache, fever blisters) when I tried marijuana in the 1970's; it happened again when I tried hash; I was on the floor for 2 hours scared that I was dying. People have told me that this new CBD stuff doesn't have THC but I don't know whether it was the THC or something else that made me so ill. Peggy
