Loss of taste after liver transplant
Hi everyone, my husband is 14 days post liver transplant. He has completely lost his sense of taste and even worse, nearly all food and drink (besides water) taste awful to him. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know what medication causes it? Does it go away? What did you find you could tolerate the taste of to eat or drink?

Good Morning, @123sandy. I want to let you now that I am thinking about your upcoming appointment. I rememeber my 1st annual visit to be a mixture of emotions as I had a difficult pre transplant period and it was frightening to be faced with those unccomfortable memories. I did shed some tears, but quickly recovered and my mood turned to joy and happoiness! I learned so much about my condition and how to continue forward with maintaining my health. I hope that you will have a good experience, and that you will come away with new knowledge and confidence as you progress forward.
If I might add a suggestion: Make a list of your questions so that you can ask your transplant team while you are there. Do you have to travel a distance with overnight lodging? Have you received a schedule of appointments/tests yet? Will you be at Mayo?
