I can assure you that I am not paying $10,000/shot. Have your physician collaborate with the drug representative, a pharmacist, and Regeneron and your insurance company. There are numerous ways to obtain a prior authorization for off-label use of medication. If your physician is unable to negotiate around this then perhaps he can seek some guidance.
Thank for responding. Hopefully I will do something with the information. I'm very good, no I would say I am one of the best at not following through. I do appreciate you for helping me and others through this forum.
Thank you
I have just had such positive results and want everyone to as well. There is nothing worse than struggling to breath and not do the things that you would like to to do. Please, thought, make sure that you engage a practitioner that has had a good amount of experience placing them with positive outcomes. There are two types, the Spiration made by Olympus and then the Zephyr.....basically do the same thing. Wish you much success!
I will recant my comments re the side-effects of Dupixent side-effects of vertigo/dizziness etc. I have since discovered that coincidentally those symptoms started at the same time I started the Dupixent. I have found the Dupixent to be a life saver in dealing with my State IV COPD/emphysema. My O2 Sats are consistently in the 95 and upper percentile, the secretions have significantly decreased and I can do most things that a 75 y/o woman would want to do aside from terribly strenuous activity. My quality of life has improved so very much! I apologize sincerely for any misinformation that I may have put out there.
So what are they saying caused the vertigo/dizziness etc. ? I've not heard of Dupixent but have severe copd. Many days I have a big problem walking (slowly) 10 feet to get to the bathroom. This is interesting but I'd like to know what caused the side effects.
Is anyone with COPD still following this Thread? I have some questions......re the Dupixent and other treatment options that have been approved by the FDA
I have been using Dupixent for 8 months with remarkable benefits. I started it after zephyr valve insertions and now enjoy activities that gave me extreme shortness of breath before!

Let me clarify! The Dupixent helped dramatically with all the secretions that I encountered almost taking them to minimum. My 02 sats improved by 4 % points. The valves opened the airways....so the procedure plus the medication works in tandem.

I have been since 11/2023 and found it to be truly life changing! Just within the last few months I have found it to be less effective.....don't know if that means I am advancing my disease or whether I am having an exacerbation and just need a course of prednisone taper. I also started a new medication about the time I started Dupixent and it may be interfering in some way. I don't think I would have made it this far without the Dupixent in conjunction of having zephyr valve placement. What a world of difference. Thank you for your response!

my doctor suggested dupixent, but I think too expensive with no proven outcome
hopefully people using it respond

I have been using Dupixent for almost 2 years. VERY helpful in reducing mucous. My doctor qualified me for Dupixent My Way. https://www.dupixent.com/support-savings/copay-card. Do it.
