short term memory loss due to head trauma

I am from Bangalore(India). Last evening (19th May IST) my daughter of 10.5 years, fell while skating and hit her head.
She appeared normal after that but started asking same question repeatedly like "what happened" every minute.
I took her to hospital, where they did a CT scan and did not find any injury to brain.
I am under lot of stress about here future. Please suggest what i should do?

@ranjeetsih Thank you for reporting back to us. This is very good news. She will also see the neurologist before the MRI so I am hopeful you will get more information before the MRI.

One idea I have. Does your daughter wear a helmet, like a bike helmet, when she rides her bike or is skating? I'm in the U.S. and when I was a child in the 1960's no one wore helmets for activities. We know so much more about head injuries and so would be a good idea for your daughter to wear a bike helmet for her activities. You can ask the neurologist what they think about this recommendation.

Yes, she was wearing a bike helmet and guards on knee, elbow and palm.
the fall was of around 5 foot.
She only got a tiny bruise on her palm.

She only got a tiny bruise on her palm.

I hope and pray your daughter will be okay and fully recover. A concussion assessment can be done answering questions and looking into eyes with light and having the doctor assess dilation and movement. My son had 2 concussions, one mild at age 7 and another one, moderate, at age 8. They were both falls into object (edge of table and metal bed frame). He had to significantly reduce activities, reading, screen time, etc. to allow his brain to heal. A concussion is like a bruise on the brain when the force of impact causes the jello-like consistency on the brain to hit the inside of the skull. My son is 14 now and has ADHD and some motor coordination/impulse control issues and headaches but not sure if tied at all to the concussions. He is on the honor roll so is still able to do well in school. I really discourage him now from contact sports/activities and takes ADHD medication to prevent additional concussions. Good luck getting answers and proper treatment. I was dropped as a baby on my head (rolled off a changing table when my grandmother was changing me) and I remember hitting my head into a cement wall while roller skating when I was around your daughter’s age. I did black out a bit but was okay (don’t know much about concussions at the time and most likely had one when a baby and at 10). I was able to get 3 degrees and have a good career for 34 years and hope the same for your daughter.

@ranjeetsih Thank good news your daughter was wearing all the protective gear including a helmet. I think you plan to take her to the neurologist soon. You are doing everything possible to support and help your daughter. The neurologist will likely have suggestions on what your daughter can do to help her to continue with her recovery.

Here is some information from Mayo Clinic on concussions in children. You might print this and take it with you to the neurologist and put a tick mark by any symptoms or questions that you have.

Hi

The day before yesterday a neurologist examined my daughter (asked her to walk, stand on one foot, eye movement test, adding numbers etc.). Asked us to keep her home for couple of more days and keep an eye on her and consult the doctor if any change in behavior (change in speech or walk). as of now she is normal.
