Difficulty regulating body temperature. Does anyone else have this?
For the last several years after having COVID in 2021, I have had difficulty maintaining a warm body temperature and if I get too cold, it is almost impossible to warm up which drops my blood pressure, gives me chills and causes hypothermia.
I've just dealt with it but sometimes without warning it just "zaps" me...causing me to run for a blanket, hot drink or shower which only mildly helps. I've stood shivering in a scalding hot shower.
Has anyone else experienced this? What causes this condition and what has helped you deal with it? I haven't had any testing done but would be interested in learning more about this.

Your optimal thyroid levels may be different than what falls in the “normal” ranges. For example, my TSH would range 1.0-3.0 which falls in the normal range but I did not feel “normal.” I finally was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and hypothyroid after lobectomy due to suspicious thyroid nodule. I am now on 100 mcg levothyroxine to help support my thyroid function. I am 54 and everything is blamed on perimenopause/menopause or depression. Ask to do TSH/T3/T4/TPO (autoantibodies showing if your immune system is attacking your thyroid).
I get hot and start perspiring when im hardly doing anything. y whoe head perspires ad my hair gets dripping wet in a few seconds! Its awful and i have to put the air cond on 66* in order to stop perspiring. I have realized that i am alergic to certain sodium preservatives that are in our food as well as mst of our medications, even Advil, ibuprophen. etc. I swell ad get warm ad perspire.. so what do I do? What do we do?
@harley22 Have you had an Ultrasound done on your Thyroid/parathyroid to look for structural abnormalities?
Definitely. I have Graves Disease & had my thyroid out in 1985. My parathyroids weren't working after surgery suggesting they were damaged from the surgery. I fluctuate from hot to cold easily. Even when my level is stable. I was on 100mg but when I saw my endocrinologist he suggested 88mg because I've experienced this before. After a few weeks I wasn't sweating so much from just doing nothing & being too hot. I would see an endocrinologist.
