PVCs back again
Hi, pvctom here,
Just wanted to say hi and mention my dreaded nighttime PVCs are back..been slowly sneaking up on me…god I hate these uncomfortable sensations…thank god I’m over 8 months since my THR..now on top of morning fears and worry, I can almost guarantee these things happen later in the evening…belching and bad digestion doesn’t help…I get to see my psychiatrist this Wednesday about the morning fears…glad I can come here to write something to somebody…hope everyone here has a peaceful nice Christmas…

It seems as if the medical community is slowly coming around to looking at chronic inflammation as a frequent culprit in AF. This often comes from the wrong diet, or from autoimmune disorders, diabetes, COPD, lack of quality sleep, Vagus nerve tonality, GERD, and others.
There is nothing wrong with describing one's prescription as it relates to one's condition. There WOULD BE something wrong with suggesting that others reading should give your prescription a try!
Many people are prescribed drugs meant for something else. Serendipitous discoveries abound in the literature. Methotrexate, for example, has a primary use, but those suffering from Behcet's disease have improved substantially when they take it. Same for colchicine. Why turn your nose up at anything that ameliorates your condition?!? If it isn't going to confound any other protocols you're following, is safe, is well tolerated, AND it helps to improve your undesired experience, ............................................................??? So, I'm happy to see that Flecainide is helping you.

Probably a good question for your EP. I have heart failure and a EF of 20. I had a AICD/Pacemaker implanted back in 2006. My EF remains stable now. I have had shocks over the years but medications and pacemaker adjustments have corrected it.
What I can say and again not a medical professional is that I was having a lot of PVCs. My pulse rate had dropped to 40s after started Entresto and Coreg. I started having a lot more PVCs and EP and Pace Clinic raised my pacing to 60. It improved my PVCs. Then we raised it to 70 beats a minute to experiment and they were reduced again. It has been at 70 bpm now for several years.
So to answer your question from a patient my pacemaker did reduct my PVCs by racing my pacing rate. Regarding tachycardia's. A pacing of heart to get regular rympthm is important. What I can tell you is my AICD/Pacemaker monitors my heart rmypthm (spell). If my rympthm gets to high (tachycarida) my pacemaker will try to pace me out of it. If that does not work it will supply a shock to bring rymphm back.
Having it also addresses your mental stress and worry. Knowing your heart is being paced for a regular rympthm is stress releaving. Knowing it tachycardia gets out of control it will correc with higher pacing and/or shocks.
I am a big believer that the stress and worry about PVCs, PACs, and tachycardia is a cause and effect and addressing that stress goes a long way to corrective and succesful treatments.
Thanks for that information and helpful reply…stress and digestion also can exacerbate my PVCs when I’m in one of those terrible cycles 🙏pvctom
Thank you for your response. Since I've been taking flecanide I've had no issues with PVCs. Too much flecanide and things get kind of wonky. I too have been diagnosed with GAD and MDD. I have a fabulous psychiatrist who is extremely knowledgeable with meds and knows my fears of other medications and flecanide. Having good heart Specialists has helped, especially ones that have compassion for those of us with anxiety and panic disorder. I never asked for these conditions, but life deals out traumatic experiences that we have no control over. So we have to find a way to deal with it, It takes its toll on our bodies if we don't know how, and I was one that didn't know how to deal with it. Sorry this was so long. However I'm now well taken care of 😊
