National Jewish Health Patient Conference tomorrow’4/27
Are you all set for the National Jewish Health Bronchiectasis and NTM Patient Conference tomorrow, Saturday, April 27th? I know I am!
While the agenda includes discussions on NTM lung disease, you can skip those sessions if they don’t apply to you. Instead, tune into topics like bronchiectasis, nutrition, and airway clearance.
For those struggling with being underweight, Michelle MacDonald, the nutrition supervisor at NJH, will share invaluable tips to help you gain healthy pounds. Maintaining a BMI above 18.5 is linked to a better prognosis and being underweight might exclude you from certain clinical trials.

Yes! I didn’t watch the Emotional Wellness or Respiratory Therapy. I’ll catch them on the recording. The one thing that really struck me is Dr. Daley seems genuinely excited about all the new NTM therapies in the pipeline.
Many thanks again for sharing.
While this brings some hope for the future treatments of NTM, we all know bronchiectasis is like the fountain for NTM, without targeting the bronchiectasis, there will always be NTM.

Does anyone know if NJH will provide a copy of the questions and answers asked during the session?
Usually a recording is available, including the Q&A, about a month after the event.

For those who want to preview by looking at the slides, please see the link below. I am sharing this because I first contacted National Jewish and they said that the recording and materials would be available for everyone even if they didn’t pay for the conference.

Thank you, Linda!
I glanced at Dr. Honda’s slides and it raised concerns regarding what she reported about shower head filters (slides 11-12). Did she say that anti microbial filters, of the type like AquaMedix 0.2 micron pore size, do not stop NTM aerosols? Hard to interpret correctly from the slides, but I will try to access the recording in a few weeks.
Thanks, again for sharing with us.
