Kidney Transplant; MRI with Contrast
Hi all,
I am a two year post kidney transplant patient. During an abdomen ultrasound, a "complex cyst" was found on one of my native kidneys. They would like me to have an MRI with contrast to better diagnose the complex cyst.
I currently have BK virus that is improving, but not resolved. The ultrasound showed mild calieltasis on my new kidney which shows irritation (I assume from the BK virus).
I am scheduled for the MRI contrast next week but now I am concerned about stressing my new kidney even more on top of the virus. What are your thoughts?
Thanks everyone!

@lucero27, Welcome to Connect, and please forgive me for the late reply because the translation setting was not cooperating. My donor , in the US, was from an annonymous deceased donor. I see that you are in Latin America where the policies are different for organ transplants. I am aware that we have had recipients from different parts of South America and I will plan to search for those members and link them to your question. Please give me a few day to get back to you on that.
Is there a transplant center where you (or the patient) is being treated? Are you looking for a deceased donor or a living donor? What have they told you about finding a donor?
