Is it erectile dysfunction (ED)?
So, things start off fine. Foreplay exciting. But, shortly after beginning intercourse erection is gone. ED or some sort of psychological issue?

Depending on age and a few other factors not uncommon for older folks and some younger to lose their erections having intercourse. A change of position, friction, distraction like a radio playing, so many factors can affect your erection. You do need a sonogram on your penis to check for venous leakage, have you tried a cock rink at the base of your penis during intercourse. When I had my sonogram done they put me on the shots and found out my leakage was too bad. So my only choice was an implant or do nothing and be sexualy impotent for the rest of my life. Many doctors are not great treating ED have found some female doctors to be more understanding to the issue.
@laughlin1947 - The ED diagnosis and treatment is a very frustrating issue! I encountered three basic doctor attitudes: (1) My PCP was at sea with ED. Pills were the only answer...(2) Urologists that stated ED was part of their practice - only to discover the ED part of their practice is a side light and they had little more to offer than my PCP. (3) A true urologist/ED specialist. That diagnostic process was entirely different leading to a solution that's happily been successful for nine years.
Ask around. Research urologists with a true ED specialty. )I'm not sure what to think of the specialty ED clinics that have popped up.)
In the screening process - I might think through questions relating to how the doctor goes about the diagnosis, testing, etc. The diagnosis can be tricky as often there are other conditions present, Rx drugs, Lifestyle concerns, and even psychological issues...
Did you ever consider or get offered as an option the so-called "shock therapy" which is apparently directed towards increasing blood supply to the penis by breaking down vascular obstructions at the base of the penis?
No, but that was exactly my issue creating ED. The blood flow obstruction was identified using an ultra sound. I'm not sure what a "shock therapy" is. Can you direct me to where you learned about it? I'm managing with try-mix injections. Works fine...
The jury is still out on the so called "shock wave" therapy, most drs have found it does not offer much to many men. If your using shots and having good results stick with that. I tried the shots after having a sonogram of my penis after it was injected with trimix, they said I had some venous leakage. Tried to put me on the shots but no matter what strength they never worked. I might add I had a stroke in July of 2022 lost my libido and never had an erection again. Last June I had a Rigicon malleable penile implant put in which solved my issues.
What exactly is a Rigicon malleable penile implant??
@arctic22
A friend and I were talking about implants and he said he’s had one for some time. He asked if I wanted to check it out and see how it worked and my curiosity being what it is I did. I could hear and feel it clicking when bending. Wondering if the newer ones still do that?
Do you mind having an erection all the time? What made you choose the malleable type over the pump up-version? Do you have any regrets?
My Tri-mix isn't as effective as it used to be so thinking more seriously about one.
Thanks,
Jake
Hi, is his a malleable? If so do you know how old and what brand? Mine was implanted 6-2023 it is a Rigicon which has a lifetime warranty, the other 2 are called Genesis also lifetime if I remember correctly and Tactra which is 5 yr warranty. Mine is one noted for bending 135 degrees compared to 90 degrees for the other 2 brands. My dr. chose the brand for me, due to age and health issues was the only one he would do. I was talking to him recently and he told me if my implant was a Tactra with rods as big as I have 13mm dia I would not be able to bend it. After about 3 months or so you don't even notice you have it, low risk of infection compared to the inflatables. If you sit and get it in a bind feels like a firm 20yr old erection trapped in your underwear, if you can remember that far back ...lol. Each brand has their own ins and outs as far as good and bad. Best information I have found is on a site called Franktalk.com It's all men who have implants ..want implants etc .. join up and look for a member postings from a guy called "thedriver" He recently just had a Genesis implant put in after 4 or 5 revisions with the inflatable implants. From his posting he and his wife use it on a regular basis and he posts on his opinion of it. If I can answer anything else feel free to contact me.
