Leg and Foot cramps.

Posted by danny67 @danny5, Feb 5 1:10am

wondering if there is anybody with this problem. i get muscle cramps in both legs and feet. but they are more frequent and worse in my right leg. from just below the knee. and into the foot. always at night, when i'm in bed. bad enough that the right foot twitches also.
i hope this is in the correct discussion post.

@danny5 a Boutique doctor is a physician that is paid on an annual basis by a client. That Client then has the privilege of contacting them at will if need be for medical issues. They are known also as Concierge Physicians. Google MDVIP to learn more.

I too suffer from foot, toe and ankle cramps, and of course only at nite interrupting a good nights sleep. Tonic water was suggested however I upped the ante and started taking about 10-15 cc of "Classic Tonic Syrup." Tastes horrible but much better than having nocturnal leg cramps and a miserable lack of sleep day following.

the only thing i'm on is 2400mg of Gabapentin. but that just don't seem to be working. i'll have to talk to my Neurologist about it.

I tried gabapentin and started having muscle and leg cramps. Once I stopped and it left my system the cramps got better. It might be something to ask your Dr about.

danny67,
I get some relief from a weighted blanket. I use compression and ice everywhere. Do feel vibrations too?

This is off topic for here, but I wanted to thank you for sharing your positive feedbacks on several of my posts. That is something I know we should do. You did show me that you thought I had a good idea. I read your profile uhhh, all I can think of to say is 😱😱😱

It's the brand name of the tonic syrup I buy from Amazon.

What scares me to stay as limber and strong as possible in my body of eight decades is the prospect of becoming unable to look after myself. I know it may become a reality one day but I want to avoid at all cost -- WITHOUT becoming obsessed with it.

So the last thing I do before going to sleep is to bring my two feet pulled together closest to my body in a sitting position on floor. Pull each leg close to chest in a lying on back position. Repeat on waking up Plus do the turning in and out, up and down, and outward and inward each foot (turning on all three axes). And poses that stretch inside of upper legs. Yes, core exercise too.

During the day if I do not get to do my brisk walk, I make up with kicking an imaginary ball with Full Force. Try (depending on your fitness level) it in your bed room or living rm. I won't do it in public...unless there's another lunatic to get moral support!

So far it has not disappointed me. Our bodies need exertion to stay in shape

Quinine Sulpahide is a prescription drug for cramps, I use it from time to time and it does work.

Rubbing magnesium gel on the cramp area stops it immediately. I know that first hand.
