Has anyone had chronic itchiness of the scrotum that persists?
I have had fairly severe itchiness of the scrotum for the past year or two. Tries OTC stuff, then went to dermatologist who prescribed tubes of topical cream (Ketoconazole). Washed, dried daily, applied med for over a month. No real help. Anyone out there experience a similar situation? Thanks

When did you last have your serum blood glucose checked? This is one symptom of pre-diabetes or diabetes type s 1 & 2. If you don't know your fasting glucose, ask for an HbA1c, HOMA- IR (to measure insulin in case of insulin resistance). Your dermatologist did not ask about this? Blood glucose fluctuates like the stock market and there are many causes other than diabetes, poor sleep, prolonged high stress cortisol hormone and diet.
Pre diabetes and diabetes can present as fungal infections and discoloration in the moist parts of the body, groin, neck and armpits. Topical antifungal creams like lotrimen, formulations for jock itch can kill the bacteria causing the fungus, but it it isn't working it's possible that there's an underlying cause- hence glucose.
Another is a question of hygiene, cleaning and changing underwear regularly. Soft all cotton breathable material is better than synthetic blends that hold in moisture, like polyester, spandex, etc.
Hydrocortisone cream may feed the fungus as opposed to eliminating it. Hydrocortisone is for reducing inflammation, it doesn't kill bacteria.
Look under your armpits and use a mirror to check your groin and the area behind your knees for discoloration, for a darkened color like a light brown. This discoloration is a symptom related to high blood sugar too. The good news is that if this is the case, it can be reversed with dietary changes. From what you describe, it's been a long time using these creams. If they're not working, it could be what I mentioned in the opening. If your glucose and insulin levels are normal, then I haven't the foggiest idea. It must be quite bothersome.
Thanks for your response. I was actually able to resolve the itchiness using an antifungal cream called Pharmabanner anti-jock itch and ringworm crea.m. It is currently out of stock, but the replacement cream, Tegrid antifungal cream seems to be working as well.
Thanks for the heads up with the burning. Amazon will be delivering it tomorrow.
I'm a lefty, if I allow it.

Caldesene powder with zinc helps for sweating. Using a soap with zinc pyrithione in the shower can remedy seborrheic symptoms.
There are some concerns that overuse of antifungal creams can lead
to treatment resistant yeast development. Occasional use a few times a week
with hydrocortisone lotion 1% is safe for problem days. Avoid tight shorts.
OK to use a hair dryer on low setting to dry thoroughly after showers.
if you allow it? hmmm. i always thought it had a "MIND" of its own. 🤣🤣d. 🏳️🌈
that hair dryer is an excellent idea. because no matter how much i use a towel. it's never dry enough. d 🏳️🌈
I had a penile implant in December, so depending on how flaccid or firm, it can stay in place in my spandex boxer briefs
That's what my dermatologist told me. The presciption Rx did not work You can see the stuff from Amazon that I used to eliminate the "itchiness" 100%.
a penile implant. that would not help me. not with being a diabetic. all those nerves a shot. d 🏳️🌈
