Trembling erratically

Post Covid I have almost randomly been hit by anxiety-like trembling that is totally disabling, but stops if I lie down and do deep breathing for maybe 5;minutes. Once it was like an internal burst that went down one leg. Also have found my left arm and hand trembling starting near my left armpit. Am seeking to see my MD, hard in Ontario and emergency wait times are hours and hours. I feel as if my autonomic nervous system goes haywire. Has this happened to anyone?

I haven’t had that happen. It sounds frightening. I hope you can find someone to help you soon. My dad has a neurological condition that causes trembling and other body movements in incidents that appear to be seizures, diagnosed as Conversion Disorder. His disorder is not covid related.

Yes to trembling out of the blue for no apparent reason. I’ve had to resort to anti-anxiety meds.

I am so sorry this is happening to you, all of you. I too have had almost all the symptoms and no one can help…the same story. I’ve gone to all the doctors, Chinese medicine, have tons of bloodwork & MRI’s, everything! Has the Mayo Clinic helpful? This may have already been discussed, but I’m curious.

The comments have helped bc I see others are experiencing similar & im not alone. Just crazy!

But it has happened in situations where I am definitely not anxious, but normally excited in some small thing. No access to tests yet, but I feel that deep breathing and keeping myself quiet is helping. But I cannot live life that way! Hope to see my doctor.

My father was diagnosed after excluding everything else. He actually had the seizures in the hospital in front of doctors. At times, he would lose his vision and ability to stand. He takes meds to treat it and they help. The episodes are less frequent and not as severe as they used to be. A cause is not necessarily something they can determine. It’s not always about anxiety.

I hope they can figure out what you have. Please post how you’re doing.

I have had frequent internal tremors post vax for two years. The last month I now also have muscle twitching in different areas of my body which is scary.

Do you mind sharing if the doctors feel your dad’s condition was developed from having Covid?

No, my dad’s Conversion disorder episodes started years ago, before Covid was ever heard of. I think maybe 8 years ago. Many types of patients have it, even children. It’s categorized as part neurological and part psychiatric. I think the new term for it is Functional Neurological Disorder.

I had a familial tremor before I got COVID last November. It was predominantly in my left hand with my right hand shaking only a bit. Now, after COVID, the tremor has gotten worse in both hands. It is tough to hold a glass (I have to do it with two hands at times). Putting on contacts is a real treat!!!!!
