Constant itching scalp
Just interested if anyone has an itchy scalp? I have had 3 cancers but this is driving me crazy. Two doctors gave me shampoo but the side effects loss of hair etc put me off using them. I have been using 1 tablespoon of olive oil and tea tree and peppermint oil. Has anyone had a problem and if so what did they use? Thanks

I’m really sorry to hear about your itching, purple dots, and weight loss.
I had a very itchy scalp several years ago, purple dots that itched, weight loss but that may have been from depression.
Ultimately, I was diagnosed with Grover’s Disease and am now on Dupixent which has been a life saver. Best of luck.
I have food sensitivities, Mast Cell releases and Histamine in foods Intolerance. The first two caused my scalp to itch for quite a long time. The answer is ofcourse to stop eating the foods that trigger itchy scalp by first going through food sensitivity testing.
It looks like Prurigo Nodularis. Ask dermatologist. Treatment is biweekly Dupixent injections.
Below is a Mayo CLinic picture of Prurigo Nodularis
@donnacarp where did you find the boric acid capsules? Did you dissolve capsule casing and the powder inside, or did you just empty the powder out of the capsules?
@ddaleygunther since I last posted about my scalp itching here, I have started a new medication - Bimzelx - for psoriasis of my scalp and my scalp and itching cleared within two weeks after the first injection! My skin has been clear ever since, except for patches of what the dermatologist says is keratosis and “nothing to worry about” according to him. 🤷🏼♀️ at least my psoriasis has cleared and my scalp does not itch - but the rest of my body still itches, although there is no visible scaling or rash.
Going to ask my dermatologist about Diazepam that @nshugg mentioned and my physician about Naltrexone mentioned by @susanh824 for the general body itch I still have.
I lost most my hair n the dermatologist did a punch biopsy to my skull to find out y. After results I found out it was wrong.
Iuse organic coconut oil once a wk. Just put it on your all your scalp. I cover mine for an hour n then shampoo n condition. I grew my hair back doing that. Just my 2 cents, but it stops the itchy for at least a day. To me any relief is good. Gl.
I haven't been able to find your other posts technical glitch. I also have scalp psoriasis and have tried several biologics. I am now on Tremfyra since May. It doesn't seem to be working bur also appears to be affecting my.liver function according to blood tests. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem? Also wondering if others have the same success with Bimzelx ? Also has anyone had success with a diet only approach to scalp psoriasis....mine is horrendously itchy at the moment and really affects sleep. Thanks!!!
@leemoore13 I can relate to that scalp itching! It drove me mental - especially at night - for many months till I started Bimzlx injections - once a month for five months, then every six weeks and now every eight week.
Before this I took a Benedryl at bedtime every night and that eased the itching considerably.
Hi Rashidz. Thanks for thst. How long did it take before the Bilzelx worked? I take something like Benadryl most nights but hasn't really stopped the itch and I hate the hangovers I get from those types of drugs. And how long have you been.on the Bimzelx?? Thanks!
