Constant itching scalp
Just interested if anyone has an itchy scalp? I have had 3 cancers but this is driving me crazy. Two doctors gave me shampoo but the side effects loss of hair etc put me off using them. I have been using 1 tablespoon of olive oil and tea tree and peppermint oil. Has anyone had a problem and if so what did they use? Thanks

I researched “dry scalp” (scalp pruritus) and found that the itchiness can be controlled by using a shampoo and perhaps a conditioner for dry scalp. There’s loads of them out there but the most reasonably priced are Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Shampoo and Selsun Blue Shampoo.
There are 2 kinds of dry scalps: those that produce dandruff and those that don’t. They’re treated the same.
If there are accompanying rashes or red patchy areas, then you may have scalp psoriasis. The treatments for this include oral and topical medications most by prescription. Steroids may be used to control inflammation in bad cases. You have to see a dermatologist for these meds as well as light therapy.
I was prescribed : Clobetasol solution ---"is a medication used to treat certain scalp and skin conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis, and rash. It is a very strong (super-high-potency) corticosteroid that helps to reduce inflammation, itching, and redness associated with these conditions. "
It helped.
