Does anyone have vivid nightmares post Covid?

I tested positive for Covid on October 3rd. I begged the doctor to give me Paxlovid. They kind of made me scared of it. I had a very sore throat and hoarseness, which furthered my fear of a bad reaction, so I stopped taking it after two days. Worst decision of my life. I felt great but on October 10th I got a rebound and have not recovered or been myself since. All sorts of awful symptoms have transpired since that day. Early on in my rebound I began to have these horrible nightmares that would feel so real that I could not decipher reality from the dream. It take It gave me panic attacks. And that was the beginning of my extreme fight or flight mode and night terrors. I still have these night terrors and they are very troubling. They can ruin my entire morning and now I have sleep anxiety. The night terrors are vivid, violent, and negative. Very out of character for me. They get worse with hormonal changes. Also if I’m having body pain of any kind I feel it in my dream. I was not hospitalized at any point during this. This morning I woke up to feeling like I had been physically assaulted and could not breathe.

I go to the Mayo Clinic in a couple of weeks. Ready for this Covid nightmare day time and night time to be over.

@aopal000 Went to Mayo Rochester last August and one of their planned prescriptions for LC is Naltrexone. A Naltrexone side effect warning is "vivid dreams" sometimes nightmares, I did have vivid dreams, fortunately not nightmares. Wish you the best.

Did their LC clinic help you? Do you still have to take Naltrexone ? I am not sure if that medication is going to work for me with my situation. Thank you for sharing! I’m hopeful that they will be willing to try Paxlovid 15 day trial since they are using other medicines off label. But hopeful for any relief. Ready to have my life back.

Yes the LC Clinic helped, I feel better and know my boundaries. I am not 100% but hoping on day to be.

The Naltrexone was set time period. It is an anti addiction drug that helps with LC. I stopped taking it on 24 January.

No, it runs 3 months and then you so to speak 'graduate'. It is an artificial cutoff just to run a good process. I still communicate with them from time to time which you can be charged for.

I still have these very vivid dreams. You are right about the reality of them. At times I would think they were real, feeling I had just been yelled at or fighting. Waking up yelling or crying. I wake frequently overnight due to joints hurting and hands and arms numb and tingling. Good luck at Mayo.

Oh, I haven't had any prescribed medications for my symptoms. I used a medication, herbal, for brain fog suggested by the clinic, but, it got to be too expensive.

They have a long Covid clinic. I have no idea what all it entails. I go there this month. Hopeful, they will give me some relief and a recovery plan. Like many others, I am totally lost with this illness and the toll it has taken on my body and mind.
