My daughter meets every criteria for borderline personality disorder
My 19 year old daughter meets every one of the criteria for BPD. Anyone out there have first-hand experience in dealing with someone close to them with this disorder?
And, would anyone with BPD be willing to talk openly and honestly about their experience in dealing with this disorder themselves?

Hi, I am 31 year old male suffering from bpd. I wish there was a solid way to treat this hell of an illness. It's like u destroy Ur own life unintendedly. I'm currently taking an anti depressant to try and help as much as possible.
I'm 19 years old, and I have most of the criteria for BPD. I also have ADHD, and side effects of anxiety and major depression.
The are DBT self help info from the UK that are quite good. YouTube and other sites on BPD should have some videos for care givers. DBT is the latest buzz for BPD. It cost a lot of money for treatment. It's good your child is so young.
Look at DBT on the web. Google you city and DBT to see if there are any therapist trained in DBT.
I have a loved one affected by BPD type II. He refuses to get any medical help or counseling. He lies a lot, and has had multiple addictions. The one he struggles the most with is pornography and sex. If he is refusing to get any help outside of his own efforts, what choices do I have to help?

You have to take care of your self first. Look at YouTube. Check the NAMI website for info. Search on DBT as well as BPD. Go to Tara Brach web site for hundreds of guided meditations that can calm and sooth you.. Stay safe.
hey Bipolarl is many times a misdiagnosis And is really BPD. Look at the BPD & DBT info and see what you think.
I'm in counseling currently and I see a psychiatrist. I'm taking Concerta, Lorazepam, and Abilify.
