The Stephen and Barbara Slaggie Family Cancer Education Center offers free education and support to cancer patients and their support network at all Mayo Clinic sites.
Our mission is to assist in the removal of nonclinical barriers to care and enhance the patient learning experience through educating all relevant audiences on cancer prevention, risks, screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care.

Our Patient Educators provide personalized education focused on symptom control and survivorship through a variety of educational offerings. Our offerings include live classes, therapeutic activities, self-paced courses, and more.
Our Patient Navigators provide nonclinical support to patients and caregivers. We have general and population specific Patient Navigators available to help identify and reduce barriers to care, such as transportation, financial concerns, and lodging needs.
Our educational materials are available for Mayo Clinic patients at all sites. Visit us on the Rochester, MN campus or contact us to request materials to be mailed or sent through your patient portal.
