This group is for people interested in blood donation. Every six minutes, a patient at Mayo Clinic needs a transfusion of blood or blood products. A simple blood donation can save the life of a child with leukemia, restore the strength of a cancer patient, or provide a critical transfusion to an accident victim. There is no substitute for this lifesaving gift, so patients rely upon the caring spirit of blood donors. Join the discussion and learn more about blood donation!

Olmsted County First Responders - are you ready for the competition?
Join us for the annual Battle of the Badges blood donation challenge, involving first-responder groups in Olmsted County. Show your support by donating for your favorite organization—all are welcome!

It's easy to donate! Simply check in at the front desk at one of the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Program locations with the desired team name to ensure your blood donation is counted during the competition. The team with the highest amount of donation points will win bragging rights and a trophy.

Participating teams include:

  • Law Enforcement (Rochester Police Station and Olmsted County Sheriff's Office)
  • Fire Department (Rochester, Byron and Stewartville)
  • Ambulance Service (Mayo Clinic's)

Last year's winner was the Ambulance Service!
