This could be big for people affected with HLHS

Dr. Timothy Nelson, director of the Todd and Karen Wanek Program for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, got a visit from ABC's Bill Weir back in May. The cardiac tissue that you see beating in this clip is actually from a person with HLHS. While this technology is not ready to be used clinically yet, the potential for it is very exciting. Mr. Weir is scheduled to be back soon. Check back for an update!

The specialized team is addressing the various aspects of these defects by using research and clinical strategies ranging from basic science to diagnostic imaging to regenerative therapies.
