New Volunteer: Ifunanya Okonkwo

Ifunanya (Nanya) Okonkwo is the newest member of our team of No One Dies Alone (NODA) volunteers! Nanya works as a registered nurse at Saint Marys. As a volunteer, she will be comforting patients at end of life at both our Rochester hospitals through our NODA program.

Q: Are you originally from the Rochester area? If not, where else have you lived?
A: I have lived in Nigeria, Chicago, IL, and Rockford, IL.

Q: When you aren't volunteering, what else do you like to do?
A: Watch TV shows, go out to try new food, and catch up with family and friends.

Q: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
A: Water, snacks, and blankets

Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: Working in the ICU and helping the sickest patients on their road to recovery

Q: What is your favorite thing about Mayo Clinic?
A: Meeting people from all parts of the country, and having multiple learning and career growth opportunities.
