Earlier this year, members of the Todd and Karen Wanek Family Program for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) had the opportunity to meet Jason and Susan Smith from the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation. It was a meeting that happened by chance and a meeting for which we are very grateful. Every now and then you meet passionate people who are going above and beyond to make a difference for those around them. That description fits Jason, Susan and the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation to a T!
Since that meeting, we've strengthened that partnership with Jason and Susan and we're very excited that they will be speaking at Feel the Beat 2014 on November 8. Their message is both powerful and inspirational and one that we can't wait to share with others in the HLHS and congenital heart defect (CHD) communities. Join us at Feel the Beat 2014 to hear more from this amazing couple.
In addition to Feel the Beat 2014, the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation is doing great things for the HLHS and CHD communities. This coming Friday, October 24, the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation will be hosting their 4th annual Golf Tournament in Anderson, SC. The day will also include not only one, but two CHD receptions; one for adults with CHDs and one for families with children with CHDs. How great! Check out their website for more information. On behalf of the Todd and Karen Wanek Family Program for HLHS, we would like to wish Jason, Susan, and the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation the best of luck for their event on Friday. We know it will be a smashing success and we'll see you in a few short weeks!
