Alzheimer's Association's Tips for Caregivers During COVID-19

Coronavirus

Today I wanted to highlight a recent post from the Alzheimer's Association on Caregiving Tips during the Coronavirus pandemic. You can access that story through the link below:

One comment in the article particularly catches my attention:

"Think ahead and make alternative plans for the person with dementia should
adult day care, respite, etc. be modified or cancelled in response to COVID19."

March HABIT sessions have been cancelled across the Mayo campuses.  We here in Florida have had to cancel our monthly support group for this month and next.  Not only that, but group discussions on our Clinic Connect Living with MCI Partner's Page highlights how other local community resources through the Council on Aging, senior centers, or other support groups have been cancelled as well.

So, how do we stay connected while we social distance?  Particularly for those with MCI or those helping care for someone with MCI.

I would welcome your brainstorms on this.  For those of you who are HABIT Alumni, how can we use our Partner Page more effectively?  What general discussions may we have in this blog space?

This post is a work in progress as I try to brainstorm more with my staff about this, too.

Another FYI, the AARP is having a call in TownHall tomorrow about caring for your family at 1pm EST:

What needs do you have now as a patient or care partner for someone with MCI?
