A Donor Story: Anna

2 days ago | Stacie Hammer | @shammer26

Anna and her family started hosting mobile blood drives at the family business, Coyote Creek, as they thought this would be a good way to bring people together to help save lives in a community setting. Coyote Creek Outdoors in Rochester, Minnesota, has been owned and operated by their family for 64 years! On a quarterly basis, most of the store’s staff donate blood at their mobile blood drives; even spouses and some of their customers come in to donate as well.

Anna said, “Growing up, my parents donated blood and I knew I would want to follow in their footsteps by doing the same thing: helping others when I could. I’ve been donating since I was 18. What I didn’t know was that one day the giving would come back to me full circle. In January 2023, I had a spinal fusion and spent six days in Saint Marys Hospital. While everything went smoothly, I did need a blood transfusion. It was very humbling to know I was in such a great place where we have access to blood. I will forever be grateful to those who take time to donate. We love supporting the Rochester Community and surrounding areas! Opening our business’s doors to the mobile drives is another way we can give back to those in need.

If you are able, we encourage you to give back the gift of life and donate blood too!
