Very interested in hearing about supplementing testosterone after HDT. New thinking suggests prostate cancer is unaffected by supplementation of T but QOL is often improved immensely. There is no increased risk of recurrence or progression with T therapy in men previously treated for prostate cancer.
Much needed discussion on subject matter is needed!

Would be better for this post to be in the main Prostate Cancer Support Group posts rather than the Events section which does not get followed to the same extent.

Thanks for your post.
Trying to get discussion on subject from guest speakers during the monthly support group meetings. Is there a better way to get this post to those who schedule guest speakers? Appreciate any assistance.

is listed as the contact person for the Support Group, which I'd expect includes the meetings

I was not aware there were monthly meetings. I did one recently and it was outstanding but I was aware of it as was contacted via e-mail sent to me.

Is this really every month? Is this a Jacksonville Mayo? I think this monthly meeting is at Rochester?

Hi all, I just posted the topic for October's meeting. I think it will be a very interesting one.

At the October meeting, participants will view and discuss a video by Dr. Eugene Kwon, on treatment of prostate cancer recurrence. Any patients of Dr. Kwon will be encouraged to share their treatment journey. In addition, Dr. Ewan Cobran from Mayo Clinic Arizona will be on hand to provide a brief summary of his research to better understand knowledge of genetics by men at risk for prostate cancer.

Colleen, apologies if you've addressed this elsewhere, but are past meetings available for viewing online; I missed several bc I had the wrong access address?
And, would it be appropriate to have Dr. Kwon at the outset note if his talk *would/could or not also apply* to denovo patients with or without metastases? (To explain, I, and I expect others as well, sometimes wonder if such distinctions imply an impossible extension to other categories of patients.)
Thanks.

These are good questions, Joe. Would you mind contacting Richard Vetter, Ph.D.? His email is rvetter@mayo.edu. He will be able to answer you.

I don't believe that the sessions are recorded, but @budisnothome might know.

REPLY

Each time Dick tries to record them but no luck. Only when session is going. Great to watch on Zoom.
