Would anyone like a barely used wig?

Posted by Olga @odemirjian, May 23 7:04pm

My mom passed away and this was her wig. She only wore it a very small handful of times and preferred a hat. Would love to give it away to someone in need. We are located in Phoenix, Arizona near the Mayo Clinic there.

How incredibly kind and generous of you. I wish I knew of someone in need of it. It’s very nice. I’m sure someone will respond soon.

My mom recently passed away and had this really wonderful wig that she wore maybe 3-5 times at most, she preferred her hats instead. It looks brand new. Is there anyone in need of a free wig? Please send me a private message if you would like it. We live in Phoenix, AZ near the Mayo Clinic there. Would love to pass this on to someone in need as these can be expensive and usually aren’t covered by insurance.

How generous of you. I also had a wig that had only been worn once. No organization was interested so ended up putting on a Facebook group that gives things away for free. I gifted it to a women with Alopecia.

I have hear the cancer society will take wigs. I also know bc.org (breast cancer.org) had links for wig donation. I attended a "Look good Feel Better" workshop on make-up and a lady asked the instructor about finding free wigs. I love how Laurie found a person who needed it. I think you will find one too. I bought 2 wigs with my 1st cancer 2.5 years ago and I only wore 1. The 2nd one the manager of the positive image center at city of Hope said it screams "wig". Seems the tips are what makes it so. I know someone out there will want this one. It cost a few hundred dollars. I may put that one on Facebook to someone for free.

That’s a great idea. I’ll consider that if I don’t find anyone on the Mayo site. Most places only want brand new for donations.

If there's a Gilda's Club in your area, they will probably help find it a new home. Contact the cancer center, they probably know of a program.
