I had COVID: Wonder how many of us will die?

Posted by mandy680 @mandy680, Sep 12, 2021

After spending a year with no idea I had Covid in and out of the hospital admitted at one point for my heart then actually getting the vaccine and two days later (not blaming the vaccine) but who knows when we don't get tested for anything how we will react to anything. Tested positive with the swab but the three blood test they did for antibodies came back negative even though what we have 7 variants out now. Now after heart and on top of heart problems I feel dizzy and the pressure in my head and spine is almost unbearable. When will we be taken seriously I sure have not been, I have spent more time in the er than I would like to admit I am starting to feel insane I can't live like this I just want my body back or even just hope that I won't just drop dead from something caused by COVID, you know how many people will not be counted as COVID victims??? A lot because its causing problem's after its gone so there will be lots of young poeple or even older people dropping dead because of strokes, heart t attacks and other stuff. I can't live like this is there any help????

@mandy680, welcome to the Post-COVID Recovery group. The questions you ask are serious and quite scary. It’s especially frightening because, like so many things with COVID, there aren’t clear answers … yet. Researchers and medical professionals are studying COVID and its after effects.

You ask, “Is there any help?” Yes, there is. Specialized post-COVID clinics are opening across the country and the world. At Mayo Clinic, there is a Post-COVID Recovery and Rehabilitation program. At the you will be assessed by and work with team of physicians, nurses, and health and wellness specialists to address medical issues related to COVID and to develop and use self-management tools. These tools can help decrease post-COVID-19 symptoms and improve overall functioning and quality of life.

Mandy, have you seen a physician or been to a clinic that specializes in post COVID recovery?

I've been in ans out of hospitals since August of last year they didn't even catch on to the fact it was covid related until mid April and I didn't either because I didn't have regular symptoms. I wore a heart monitor for a month just in time for my heart to stabilize and not jump from 68 to 144 sitting down. I had spine pain head felt like it was full of fluid liquid come out of my euears and nose I had and now still deal with constant pain, burning I got the covid vac on Aug 5 once I felt like I was ok, I was scared because there was no known research on whether it would affect you or not once you took the vaccine if you had had covid. I am not blaming the vaccine however the next day after receiving my first dose of Pfizer I begin to feel sick following days I've developed headaches so bad that I couldn't even keep my eyes open and I noticed a difference in my vision and then I tested positive on August 15th Chicago Med this is where I had sneezing coughing body aches I lost him taste and smell and then that last for about 10 days hardly a fever at all then a few days after being told I was okay to return to a normal life neuropathy head swelling headaches on one side of my head and fluid building up and coming out of my ears I noticed in the morning chalk it up to sinus infection started taking Claritin then my vision started getting really bad while I was driving I felt like I was going to pass out I went to the emergency room they finally after over a year took me seriously and said that they're seeing all kinds of things from post covid now my heart's back to you racing again and the constant worry of something happening but not wanting to go to the hospital and this is frustrating

Hi Mandy, just checking in to see how you are doing. Have you looked into a specialty Post-COVID Syndrome clinic?

My daughter had both Moderna vaccine and after the second shot didn't feel well, ten days after the second shot she had two mini strokes. She still suffers with stroke side effects, she will never be the same.

@macto Your poor daughter! Has she recovered from the "mini-strokes"? I presume that is the same as a TIA.

Is it certain that your daughter's were caused by the vaccine? My daughter is in her late 30s now but when she was in her 20s she had a mini-stroke and was in the hospital overnight while they did a lot of testing on her. Obviously there was no connection with a vaccine. They did suggest that she stop using birth control pills. She has never had a problem with that since then.

We can't prove my daughter's two mini strokes were result of Covid shot but that pattern is very similar to what happened to people
that got the J&J vaccine. She was not ill before the second shot. Another lady she worked with had a heat attack after her second shot but is ok. My daughter had to quit her job and has had no income since last April. I don't think she will get a booster

Has your daughter's doctor recommended post-stroke therapy to help her recovery? My Mom rehabbed successfully from two serious strokes at 78 and 80. It was hard work, but she was determined.

Suey,
Yes, she had about four months or more of several therapy sessions a week but didn't completely recover. She is 61 years old.
