With breast lymphedema, why do my feet swell?

Posted by newbie475 @newbie475, Jul 15 4:50pm

I have breast lymphedema as a result of radiation. My question, during the day and even at night my feet get swollen the area above the toes, and it’s painful… any comments would be appreciated. When I asked my PT guy, he just shrugged… please help me understand. Thank you in advance.

Hello @newbie475, I think I would try to find a PT certified in treating lymphedema in feet. I think you can use Lymphology Association of North America to locate one close to you by selecting the specialty and using your ZIP code - https://www.clt-lana.org/therapists.

Happy to help! I have lymphedema in my legs and have to wear compression socks that go up to just below the knees. You might also find this related discussion helpful.
