Will I be able to eat again after radiation to my neck and head?

@pamelaaci question !
Assuming your husband had 35 radiation treatments, did he experience constant nausea all day every day ?
Not counting chemo , because I didn’t have chemo just radiation .
Trying to understand why I have been so nauseous all of last year and continues this year .

@ernierogersquamus123 My husband ended up not needing chemo nor radiation. He was offered surgery or radiation; we opted for the surgery on his soft palate. He lost 13 lbs in 2 weeks.. Fortunate that he can eat solid food after a month, however not so lucky with liquids which tend to aspirate. Tried to get fitted for an obturator and that will not work...

Too late now , but I wish I went for surgery only .

@ernierogersquamus123 I have not had to deal with nauseau post treatment. I only experienced it during the weeks of chemo. My radiation treatments ended in June and my feeding tube was removed in September even though I could barely eat anything at that point. I struggled and survived on shakes and broth until gradually I could eat more. But very little nauseau. I feel for you, hopefully you will turn the corner soon.

I am 15 months since last Chemo/Rad. treatments for back of tongue primary that metastasized to my neck lymph nodes. My nausea was awful. My cancer team had me coming in twice a week for saline IV's because I was so dehydrated and they would inject nausea meds and steroids into my drip. It did help. I went from 180 to 130. Food was repulsive and about the only thing I could tolerate was Boost high calorie. Even that I had to guzzle just to get it down. I did those IV treatments for maybe a month or two. 15 months out I no longer have nausea, can eat anything I want ( but nothing taste good) and I have awful dry mouth and miss my taste buds. I'm back to 136. Try Xylol mouth drops for dry mouth and throat at night. Really helps. Eat slow, small bites. Peak 24gm. per pack oatmeal is great. Add blueberries and banana. Just try to eat healthy and what you can, when you can. Oncology surgeon wanted to cut the nodule out of my neck after treatments but I declined. It was full of necrotic material. They were afraid there could still be some cancer cells hiding in there but I didn't want them cutting on my neck just for a chance. Post CT scans still show no cancer cells. So a good thing. I always tell everyone the cure is worse than the disease. I do like ice cream. 🙂
