will extreme dizzyness after sudden hearing loss go away?

3 weeks ago, I lost hearing on one ear overnight. I have extreme dizzyniss and an echo. Heavy doses of steroid did nothing. MRI of brain and inner ear was fine. What do I do now?

I developed hearing loss and dizziness from high dose steroids to control my asthma. Tinnitus also occurred at this time. I got a hearing aid with a nose reducer which helped for the tinnitus. Going down on steroids - with medical supervision, helped. We were all surprised that my hearing did improve with decreased tinnitus - and was diagnosed with Meniere's disease. The dizziness still comes/goes. The crystals in the ear have been realigned - but can make one dizzy too. I do some of the home exercises when it gets really bad. I won't do steroid injections in my ears - I take enough steroids. Injections also are only about 40% helpful according to research.
Good luck and hope you feel better.

I am not sure of the terminology, but in all you said, have you had the crystals in your ears realign or checked? One of my bosses fell, landing directly on his head. The realignment corrected the problem for him. Hope this helps.

You sound exactly like me. Today is my 5th week. After 31/2 weeks I was able to drive. Nothing else has changed. Nobody seems to know what to do.

I've tried the Eply maneuver at home with my wife bit haven't been to a therapist for it. I went to local chiropractor but that turned out to be an Atlas Orthogonal place that I had zero knowledge of beforehand. Now that I have that I am not bothering with any of that.

My SSHL is 'profound' in that it's 100% total loss on my left side with persistent vertigo and dizziness. I think Eply can help with some conditions but not this.

At week 6 it's fading very, very slowly. I can drive now locally but my egg is still scrambled.

Figures, my hobby is old cars. It's not easy driving a stick when you can't hear properly.
