Will a clogged feeling in my ear(s) ever go away?
I flew home on July 20th, 2026. Everything was fine until around 5 hours later. My rt ear in a split second felt like I had to pop it/clogged and loss half hearing in ear. Saw Dr. did hearing test. after hearing test said flying coincidence and put me on steroid for 3 weeks, did nothing. Went to different Dr month later. Another hearing test, said nothing they can do. Will this clogged feeling ever go away? I'm miserable from the time I wake up till the time I go to bed.

jimmy, I get relief from a sinus and nasal decongestant called pseudoephedrine. It's otc but is kept behind the counter so you have to ask the pharmacist. I use the little red pills and not the slow release fat white ones.
and the dose is two pills, but I only use one.
Sometimes I use the eye drops but it has to be one of the vasoconstrictors like Visine. After you put the drops in blink several times quickly so that it can move down into the eustacian tube. https://baltimoresinusspecialists.com/clogged-ears-the-nose-knows/
One of the chiropractors I see adjusts for this misery. I know exactly how you feel. I hope you get relief.
@jimmycpipes2611, I've always heard that taking Sudafed (pseudoephedrine as mentioned) before a flight (If you can tolerate it and do no have high blood pressure) helps with that. Blessings & Prayers....

Appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Thank you
@jimmycpipes2611, let me know if anything anyone suggests works. Sometimes eyedrops work so fast. The red pill takes a couple of hours.
Be careful with decongestants as they can trigger a heart arrhythmia like afib (which happened to me). Taking steroids too long may cause glaucoma (which I have). My ears have been plugged on and off for more than a year. I am being treated for MAST cell activation syndrome - an autoimmune thing which could have been triggered by the mold in my house. Also I am watching my stress level (which can produce histamines that cause inflammation) and have removed most of the mold from my house. I think that I am getting better.
Have you had your upper back teeth checked? I had no pain from an abscessed tooth and it caused fullness in my ear and dizziness.

No but I currently have Invisalign braces on. They come off in 4 weeks.

The tooth I had a problem with I had cracked several years before and it had a crown. My initial symptom of the infection was one sided sinus congestion. Bacteria can be introduced and grow very slowly if you had wisdom teeth out too. It's worth looking into. I hope you find an answer.
