What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

You're all as giddy as school kids the day before vacation....how fun.
I'm waiting for my Angelica Giga flowers to wake up so I can add to the buzz
Sue
I had to check out the Angelica Giga flowers! Pretty! Reminds me a bit of Joe Pye weed but on steroids! You’ll be getting a Hive-5 from all your little bee friends. 😉🐝
Yikes. August 16th… too early!
Good morning! I’m inspired by Mother Nature’s color Pallet today. She really pulled out the 64 Crayola box…with a built in sharpener. That was what I dreamed about when I was a kid and could only afford the 24 box pack. Mother Nature provides it for free!
@jakedduck1, you’re a “fun-gi” so I tossed in these ‘shrooms for you. @artist01 @ess77 @lioness I know you’ll enjoy the flowers and sunsets. I also want to introduce you to some new members who might not be familiar with our fun side of non-medical conversations! @ggb21 @dorisjeanne @dimitra33 and @olg1 I hope you’re all enjoying some our varied groups and discussions here in Connect. Welcome!
@loribmt Beautiful photos, Lori. Your lakeside cottage site is awesome! And the mushroom pics are humbly beautiful.
Thank you, Laurie. We feel pretty lucky to have found this spot and spent a long time in the search. 65% of the shoreline is a state forest so we have few people on this large lake. It’s beauty isn’t lost on us and we’re stewards of the land and forest here. ☺️
@loribmt Those are all beautiful hope your doing well
Wow, are these smoky skies creating these colors? We only see those at the coast or in the smoke. These pictures are all so visually amazing, thank you for sharing. Do you know what kind of mushrooms those are?
Yes, unfortunately the amazing sunsets we’re experiencing come at a high price tag. It’s the smoke from the wildfires in Canada, Minnesota and points west, depending on the air flow. But wow, the colors are just stunning lately.
The mushrooms are called False Caesar. Aren’t they cool? I’d never seen them before but we’ve had them several years in a row now just at the edge of the forest. . They start out as little red/orange balls with white dots on top and then just, well, mushroom into these large mushrooms with flat tops. Some with a circumference of 5 inches or more!
Loved the mushrooms Lori! I used to ride along with my friend in his golf cart through his woods to get to what he called his prairie. We would always see some of the puffball variety and he would stop to take a closer look. The whiteness really is a stark contrast in the woods.
