Let’s dream about our future together! 🌟 Share your thoughts in the comments below. A bucket list is like a treasure map of experiences, goals, and dreams that we hope to chase in our lifetime. It can really inspire us, help us learn more about ourselves, and push us to grow as individuals. What’s on your bucket list?

I am enjoying your question, and the responses. Thank you! I've never really been able to have a bucket list, because due to a near death experience at 21 I've just never felt secure enough in the future to plan it. But I am on a 3-month system where I can plan and dream the next 90 days. I write it all down in a notebook and am ridiculously excited that a new unit started December 1! My mini bucket list for this season is to celebrate Hannukah with my near-by daughter's family where my son-in-law will cook traditional potato pancakes, visit the holiday lights display at the botanical garden, and host an old friend. I also have been noticing what upcoming days have the opportunity for heartfelt conversation--there are several this week and I'm leaning into them. I love an opportunity to engage with and appreciate time as it passes. Thanks again!

Hello. I would like to take our grandchildren age 3 and 5 to the ocean to see it. We live in Colorado.

My bucket list includes National Parks. My wife and I were able to visit three this past summer. Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier. I also visited my favorite place as a child “Crash Boat” a beautiful beach in Puerto Rico. I have been richly blessed.

Wouldn’t it be nice to rent an rv and go visit national parks?

I dream of that🤩

Crashboat looks gorgeous 🌴

Going for my third try at walking one step at a time with a 20-lb weighted backpack, the half-marathon portion of the Bataan Memorial Death March https://bataanmarch.com/ in March of 2026, in honor of some fallen soldier at age 82. Last year, I walked in memory of two fallen Green Berets and completed the 8-mile mark. For me, it has become more of a spiritual journey!

Whole life has been directed by low self esteem and as a result have achieved self worth by caring for others. Being diagnosed with breast cancer and experiencing the procedures needed to reach cancer free in four months has been exhausting. My husband has stage 4 copd and as result there has been no break to really absorb what’s happened to me. My goal is to try and digest and realize I can move forward. My bucket list right now is trying to think of an idea.

@meetoo2, what a great articulation of your path to moving forward. That in itself is a good bucket item to start with. I like that you recognize that it is time to honor you and to try to digest what YOU have been through. I suspect that journey will have hills and valleys, but will be worth the time and effort.

You also don't have to do it alone. There may be services available to you where you received your cancer care, like a hospital chaplain or oncology social worker.

Might that be helpful for you and possible with your caregiving duties?

Love this post and reading everyone’s lists.

I spent so many years from very young childhood creating and redoing my wish list.

Visited so many places each year once I started work. All over the world. Used my breaks (Australian so could take 4weeks paid and approved extra 2 weeks unpaid). Such a blast but flew out from my stressful corporate job exhausted and came back exhilarated but exhausted!

When I retired early after hectic stage 4 cancer treatment on reaching NED I figuratively dumped all lists. It was so freeing to genuinely live in the here and now, especially while being so closely surveilled and seeing my oncologist every 3 months.

I woke up each day with gratitude and was free to decide what I wished to do on that day, close to home. Catching up for breakfast or lunch with friends still working. Gardening. Decluttering. Organising my home maintenance jobs sorted. Catching a train in my city to another part and exploring. Visiting a museum or art gallery. So many options I was too tired or busy to do before.

Taking out my elderly dad with mild dementia and rearing the 2 pups I got on retiring took and take up so much of each day, in a good way.

Now I’m surveilled 6 monthly and I’m slowly lifting my eyes and looking at a wish list again, but not too far from my home while my dad’s still with us and my dogs are still so young ❤️‍🩹

Thank you all for the spur to do that 🙏♥️

I just had to say how much I loved your post! It sounds like you’ve had such an incredible journey, and it’s heartwarming to see how much you’re enjoying life every single day.

I can only imagine how amazing Australia must be!

Also, it’s so wonderful to hear that your dad is still by your side. That bond is truly special. 💖

Here’s to you, my friend! Cheers!

@azsunshine7 Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Back at you, friend.

My father has always been and still is such an amazing man. He was such a huge reason during diagnosis and treatment to keep pushing through. Now I’m loving having free time to take him out and about. It’s very special.

I do feel blessed living in Perth, Western Australia so while I loved having years of travelling I’m so lucky to be here while needing to stay close to home.

Thank you ❤️‍🩹
