My bucket list is to travel west, never been past Missouri (from Ohio). We were going to fly out last September and drive back, taking our time and making many stops. Instead, we hung out closer to home bc our youngest son was arrested and thought if we were needed, we’d be too far. ( talk about issues…) Now that my husband has been diagnosed with SCLC with Mets, we are hoping he will have the strength to do this, this coming summer and be able to experience some of the awesome National Parks. My other bucket list would be to pack up and move to a smaller place with less maintenance and care than our current 4 bedroom on 2.4 acres. Big house and yard is not needed and neither is most of the “stuff” we’ve accumulated over 45 yrs of life together.

6 Reactions@ohiogal8860 So sorry to hear. Is there a treatment plan yet?
I'm recovering from 2nd, stage 4 cancer and want to get back on
my bicycle for another tour. Exercise, nutrition, sleep, and support
can make a big difference. Try to educate oneself on the possible
treatment options.

Hi, yes. He has had his first cycle of chemo and immunotherapy for 3 days, second cycle is scheduled to start 12/3-5th. He gets a total of 4 cycles then I believe immunotherapy 1x/ month and repeat scans. He is just starting to loose his hair. His main side effects have been mostly fatigue and weight loss. He has some medical grade gummies on hand in case he needs them for appetite but so far eats fairly well and often, trying to avoid sweets. He still coughs up some blood tinged mucous but has been smoking a few cigarettes a day still. His labs were off in his albumin, protein and platelets mainly. Trying to feed him high protein drinks to supplement his intake.
He was always fit and active before this (in construction);so it’s hard to watch his muscle and extra weight dwindle. He gets short of breath easily from moderate COPD with anything strenuous. So walking may be his limit at this time. Swimming would be great if he can tolerate the chlorine?
I am sorry you are battling this cured disease also and I hope you can get that second bike tour you are desiring. God bless and keep your faith!

2 ReactionsMy bucket list includes National Parks. My wife and I were able to visit three this past summer. Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier. I also visited my favorite place as a child “Crash Boat” a beautiful beach in Puerto Rico. I have been richly blessed.
