Hello! What do people use for severe hemmorrhoids? I can usually manage with prep H but this is not doing the trick. Help please!

My doctor has prescribed Anusol suppositories. It has hydrocortisone in it. Seems to work well.

I ended up having a hemorrhoidectomy. I was scared to death because I heard how painful it is. But my colo-rectal surgeon used Exparel, which is a long acting local anesthetic. Recovery was uncomfortable but not horrifically painful. Find a surgeon that uses it.

Did you have internal or external hemorrhoids?

Reticarev Advanced is very good. You have to buy the ADVANCED because it has more lidocaine.

I had internal and external hemorroids. My proctologist performed a staple hemorroidopexy and it was great. NO discomfort!!

For a quick over the counter fix try Nupercainal ointment. It has Lidocaine in it!

Was this outpatient? How long was the recovery? Were there issues with leakage after? My doctor is against it as I am having incontinence due to EPI, and my doctor thinks it will make things worse.

I had it done early March of this year as an outpatient. Recovery is relevant. I used a donut pillow for a few weeks and I did leak twice but it was not bad at all. Since I have Microscopuc colitis my stools were quite soft for about a month. I have no regrets at all. if you have problems with leakage you could always use a teaspoon full of psyllium powder that will bulk up your stool. I also had EPI but took Zenpep and then Creon which were very helpful.
