What was the value of some of your CBC before treatment?

Posted by frank73 @frank73, 3 days ago

What were others CBC test results before treatment, here are some of mine: Hemoglobin Normal
Erythrocytes Normal
Platelets normal
Leukocytes 2.5 Normal is 3.4
Neutrophils 1.03 Normal is 1.56
Lymphocytes Normal
Monocytes .1 Normal is 2.6
Eosinophils .3 at low Normal
How does these compare to others before treatment?

Good morning, Frank. If I remember correctly, you were recently diagnosed with hairy cell leukemia. Blood numbers for any type of blood cancer can be irregular depending on the disease and how it is impacting the bone marrow. So it’s difficult to measure up one patient’s numbers against each other.

I’m posting a couple of informational articles about Hairy Cell Luekemia. Both are good, reliable sources and might be helpful in putting some of your numbers and symptoms into perspective.

This from Mayo Clinic:

From Haircellleukemia.org:

Because hairy cell leukemia can be slow to develop, many people may not need treatment initially. Have you started treatment yet?

No but I just got another CBC and my Hemoglobin has dropped to just above low normal and my hematocrit is below normal and my Neutrophils have dropped some more. I see the Hematologist in Oct. I will look at those web sites thank you. Frank
