I’ve looked into different products and nothing shows it can quiet tinnitus. If anything, most make it worse, like ibuprofen.
OTC drops have been popping up in stores. When I did an online search, all the reviews said that didn’t help.
That is what I have found also. Thanks for responding.
Hello,
Have you seen your ENT recently ? And you had no success? If so, would you think about getting a second opinion with an ENT at a major hospital like the Mayo Clinic? Make sure the natural products don't make your condition worse. Have you tried

• American Tinnitus Association (ATA) they have resources, support groups, and up-to-date research.
Sorry you have been dealing with this for so long.
Many audiologists now program combination devices (hearing aid + tinnitus masker) that emit soft neutral sounds or “fractal tones.” These are especially helpful for people who’ve had tinnitus for decades.
Sad fact is that Medicare does not pay for hearing aids and we have to resort to self help.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can really help with tinnitus distress, especially when it causes anxiety or sleep problems. Medicare does cover CBT, but it’s billed under a mental-health diagnosis (for example, anxiety, depression, or insomnia) rather than under “tinnitus.”
You can ask your primary-care doctor for a referral to a psychologist or clinical social worker who accepts Medicare. Most people qualify for 6–10 sessions, either in person or by telehealth, and Medicare Part B usually pays 80 % of the approved cost (the rest depends on your supplemental plan). The therapist doesn’t have to specialize in tinnitus — just mention that the focus is coping with chronic sound or sleep disturbance.
Thanks so much. I will certainly look into these options
I have listened to loud music all of my life. I also played in my high school jazz and concert bands. I am a lover of loud music. But once I started using Apple air pods I have undiagnosed ear aches and soreness. I use a variety of ointments and solutions but the Urgent Care PA gave me Flutocasone Propionate nasal spray and referred me to an ENT. The nasal spray actually helped tremendously.
@lbroomayo1, allergy spray for tinnitus? I use that spray about 6-7 months out of the year for my allergies and I don’t know that I’ve heard any difference. What does doctor say it does?
@hraka13 Thanks for asking. There is a reason why they call it ENT (ear, nose, throat) doctors. Those canals and ducts share drainage passages. That doesn't always mean that if you have a problem with your ears, then your nose is also be affected.
In my case this Urgent Care PA chose to have medicine through my nose because it shares a passage with my ear canals. If you look at the contents of some eye medicine soloution such as prednisolone, it may be found in both ear drops and eye drops.
I didn't have tinnitus, but just an ear ache and soreness probably due to allergies. The spray in my nostrils was strong and reduced the irritation in my ears. Either way, ear discomfort is not fun.
