Mayo is the best. I had high blood pressure before my transplant 18 months ago. Local doctors had me on Losartan 1/2 pill a day and it brought me from 150s-170s down to 120s-130s. Had the transplant and Mayo and (against my request) switched me to Carvielol 6.5. The hbp went back up. They increased it to 12 still high. They doubled it again to 25 still high. Mayo , my local doctors and I discussed and we agreed to add Losartan back and keep the Carveilol 25 mg. Has been in the 120s or lower since. I am sure if I dropped the Carveilol I would be fine but keep it to keep everyone happy. Mayo is the best. Science, surgeons, doctors everything. The new liver I have saved me from liver cancer and I am still standing after a year and a half. Thank you Mayo. But on this one issue if they prescribe you Carveilol and it does not work for you keep looking for what does. Everyone is different and I am sure it works great for most folks or they would not use it but everyone is different.
