What is known about vitamin D and MPN?

I am A soon to be 70 year old woman with ET, JAK 2. Since I am on HU (500 mg/day), sensitive to sun and chemical sun screens as well, my dr checked my vitamin D levels, which, sure enough, were low. But is it because I avoid the sun? Or is it Linked to my ET? Trying to find an answer I came upon A small study https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7053540/ What does science have to say?

This is very interesting that this discussion was brought up. Doctors spent 5 to 6 years trying to figure out what was going on with me when finally, they found out that it was in fact MPN. I am Triple Negative ET. However, I noticed back 5 to 6 years ago when my symptoms started showing up and my counts were all over the map that my Vitamin D and other Vitamin counts were also going a little crazy. My Vitamin D was extremely low and I was constantly in the sun but once put on Vitamin D2 my levels were still not rising and instead I had to be put on Vitamin D2 and Vitamin D3 because well the way I understood it was my body wasn't taking the Vitamin D2 and turning it into Vitamin D3 like it was supposed to do. I have always wondered in the back of my head if my MPN was linked to all these Vitamin deficiencies just because it all happened around the same time as I started becoming symptomatic.
