What can I take to relieve the pain in my legs from the Prolia shots?

I've been having pain in my legs and hips since I got a Prolia shot in February and again in August. My legs are really weak and pain from my hips to my feet. I think it is a side effect from the Prolia shots. How long does this side effect last and what can I take to help with the pain?

Tylenol will help. I usually take it in the morning right away and have no issues.

I take the 8 hr. Tylenol a few times a day. It does seem to help a little. Also got an RX from my pain doctor for Lyrica. I take mainly at bedtime. Seems to help also
It says I can take twice a day. But I usually take just in the evening just before bed.

My Endo wants me to try Prolia but I have mixed feeling about starting it. There seem to be
so many side effects. How long have you been getting the injections? Hope you find relief from the pain. Take care.

I just started taking the shots the end of last year. Had another one in Feb and again in August. I don't think I would take them again. Besides the cost, I am having a lot of leg pain. Don't know if it is from the shots or not but doctors don't know either.

I too had my 20 shot in May. In June I ended up with severe pain of leg and swelling of ankle of left leg. All tests ate normal but back so hatd to separate. However all drs feel my pain is far greater than back problems.

I'm convinced this pain in my legs and hips is from the Prolia shot. It says it can cause pain but never thought it would be this bad or last this long. Hoping it will go away before long. I can't do anything as I can't stand to be on my legs very long.

I took Prolia injections monthly in my arm for several years for osteoarthritis but never experienced any pain from the injections. Sorry you are experiencing pain. Has your doctor discussed giving the injections in a different area - arm vs. leg vs. abdomin? Just a thought that may or may not make a difference for you.

I did not take other bone meds prior to taking the Prolia. Just Calcium and Vitamin D for years. Decided to try the Prolia since dr. said my bone scan indicated that they would help me. I am 87 years old. I did hear that older people may have problems with leg pain from the shots. But that is after I already have had months of pain
