Were you taken off tamoxifen before any surgeries?

My daughter is having surgery next month to revise one of the breasts that was reconstructed at the time of her mastectomy. Her doctors told her it was up to her if she was worried about blood clots after surgery. But, they weren't telling her to do it or not do it. Anyone with experience on this subject? The procedure will not be extensive, transferring some fat to fill in an area. Would appreciate what you were told by your doctors. Thank you!

I was never told to stop for any surgery, however, my doctor had me on baby aspirin the whole time I was taking it. Does she take aspirin? If yes, did the surgeon ask her to stop it?

No, her doctor didn't want her to take it due to risk of possible GI bleed. I thought she should be on a baby aspirin, but the doctor said no.

Since the doc left it up to her on the tamoxifen but not the baby aspirin. That would be a personal cost vs. benefit decision for her to make. That being said, I don’t believe the stopping for a few weeks would considerably change the risk to her cancer, but I am not her doctor. My doctor would not have said it was just up to me if he felt that it would really make a difference in my cancer.
