Hi Kit, wow that’s a lot of. I truly believe in tai chi. Hopefully you have a good support system hopefully. Please look into acupuncture. It has helped me a lot and works so we with tai chi if possible. Always here to help if needed. Enjoy the present as you move through the day.

Thank you! I need to check out acupuncture. Blending eastern and western medicine has usually been beneficial. I needed the reminder. So, blessings to you. My family of friends have been my inspirational and active support. You are a new supporter that I will appreciate. Make it a peaceful & wonderful evening! Kit.

Mike, I can relate to your message. I have celiac disease which most likely accounts for my neuropathy. I must have pulled a glute muscle back in late May doing yard work and now I am in acupuncture--the doctor says that scar tissue formed there and accounts for the pain. I also have some spinal arthritis. I just know that having an autoimmune disease heightens one sensitivity to just about everything in our environment. Dietary wise, I would eliminate gluten and see if that helps. I also greatly reduced my sugar intake and am now trying to load up on lean proteins and veggies. You are not alone and want to wish you the best. Sometimes I think there is a fine line between autoimmunity and aging (I am 72) and alot different from when I was 71.
@arcuri24 Thanks so much for taking the time. Yes, it has become a hit or miss thing for me. Be well. Mike
Hi, my name is Barb. I had a lamenectomy in June due to a severe infection in L5 lumbar disc. I'm wondering if there are others here who have been through this and how they are coping, Thanks
Hi there! I’m Maureen. My chronic pain is all related to my crappy joints and connective tissue. At one time it was so severe that my depression flared up and I began to feel hopeless. But it is markedly improved since I started using medical cannabis to sleep at night — that has been life-changing. As a healthcare provider I have come to appreciate the profound impact of inadequate sleep (eg weight gain, increased pain, poor healing, poor focus), but overall it is not given the attention it deserves.

1 Reaction@meadco I had a laminectopy and discectomy L4-5 several years ago, and it was not that bad a surgery or recovery. Good luck!
Nice to greet you all! My mame is promounced like “den” —Denna Weber. Chronic pain has plagued me since a faux pas surgery in which two of four pedicle screws were driven into nerves and tissues. Reasoning didn’t come til a year later when severe damage was already done. That was 28 years ago! After much experimenting I’m now on fentanyl patches, OxyContin, also some non/opiods. I’m struggling with neuropathy and depression, Had to quit the teaching job I loved. Now I can barely do anything, as one fallen so much these past two years. Now permanent elbow dislocated and recently upper humerus break, same arm (dominant arm) . I feel I’m not good for anyone! Any help is welcome. Thanks!

1 ReactionI am a 72 year old female with degenerative arthritis ALL over. I have recent cortisone injection in my neck and in my lower back which has relived some pain. I have had 2 different injections in my left knee which has not relieved the pain. I had an MRI which shows tricompartmental osteoarthritis, Grade 4 with a small meniscus tear so I am figuring the only hope is to do a total knee replacement but I am not ready to do that (I remember recovering from the right one).
I have had both hips replaced, my right knee as well as TMC to relieve pain in my thumbs and 4 trigger fingers released (#5 will be on 10/30). I currently have a left arm fracture that has not healed after 3 months in a cast/brace. I struggle with pain in both hands, arms, back, knees and shoulders. Because of Stage 3B kidney failure, I cannot take any anti-inflammatory drugs, only Tylenol and that is limited.
Any ideas how I can find some relief.
