Weighted vest or vibration plate

Posted by friend123 @friend123, Jun 9, 2024

I just invested in a weighted vest which I use when taking walks. Has anyone tried the vibration plates? Seems like there are mixed opinions on both. Has anyone seen any success with these? Thanks

I use both. I walk daily with a weighted vest and I use the Marodyne LiV plate 3 times per day. My DEXA scans improved dramatically after 2 years and then showed stable readings the subsequent two years which is not usually the case at my age so it’s a win. I started eating 50 grams of prunes per day to add another bone health item in the mix. Will see how the numbers look next year!

@z3french9 --- wow, prunes help?

Yes. Do a bit of googling and you can see the research on this. You need to eat 50-100 grams per day though…

@meri8181 Yes, I understand your view. I have a vibrating plate (guaranteed for life--found on Amazon as used) and it really helps my neuropathy.

@meri8181 -- I was lucky to get this used --from Amazon--for $199 -- which included tax--- "Rumblex 4D Vibration Plate" and it has a lifetime guarantee. Otherwise they sell for 2x as much.--- Hope you can be lucky too.
