Weight loss
Has anyone experienced a significant weight loss. I am eating well but not gaining weight. I have lost about 20+ pounds (not all related to the bronchiectasis diagnosis, as much of the weight loss was due to muscle loss related to another issue) and cannot seem to gain any back.

@sheila7a are protein drinks like Boost or something other? One boost drink a day is all I can manage and it doesn't do much.
I drink Premier and Orgain I've been putting weight back on and getting some of my strength back.
Problem now is after a hospital stay because of fracture(didn't fall). I'm completely turned off of using the nebulizer.
The respiratory therapist would show up and there would be a short session. I had to ask for cup for spitting.
After session therapist would put cup on counter then next session same cup!
When I finally came out of brain fog I told the therapist when I did airway clearance at home I soaked my cups in hot water and sterilized weekly.
Her answer was to get a bottle of I don't know what and put a note on it then she placed next to cup.
I didn't see anyone use bottle to wipe cup.
After the fifth time of this nonsense I started refusing treatment.
They would come in anytime of day, evening, during meals.
All those precautions I followed at home out the window.
I know that airway clearance helped me but I just keep thinking after hospital experience.
These are professionals!
What a bunch of bull.
This is one of the top rated hospitals?
@sheila7a When faced with unsafe practices in the hospital, one approach is to ask to see a Patient Rep, to whom you can explain your concerns. This is especially true when you have asked for specific precautions, and they are not done.
I know it is hard to continue to be an advocate for yourself when you are ill, but would you consider doing it now?

1 ReactionSue.
I had so much brain fog.
I had 2 operations in less than 2 days.
Everyone was in an out of room with a handful of meds. Every time I would start to sleep there would be a nurse, a doctor, a cna.
I forgot to order food most days and when I did sure enough someone would knock and then walk in.
The chaplain tried to visit me 3 times and then finally gave up and taped a letter to my door.
PT and OT did a great job but I could tell they were rushed.
I did advocate for myself a few times, especially about the gait belt and the huge amount of laxatives.
I just haven't been able to start my airway clearance since back home.
My Pulmonologist was very concerned and asked me to at least do the puffer before I exercise.
Still haven't been able to do yet.
I did read one of the many papers in my discharge folder.
The article was about depression and trauma after anesthesia.
I was put out twice.
So maybe a lot of brain fog and now depressed and not motivated.
Crying is good for the vagus nerve.
