Wanting info on Biologics
Hello. I don’t tolerate maintenance inhalers which I’ve tried many. Pulmonologist wants to try me on a biologic but I’m fearful of the side effects. Would anyone want to share their experience with being on a biologic? Thanks!

I haven’t seen a real difference in anything yet except my sinus congestion, and that is already greatly improved.
I’ve been on Dupixent since November. I’ve never been told to carry an epipen for it. It helps me minimize my exacerbations—when I start having a rough time, instead of it cascading into a full exacerbation, I’m able to take it easy and then in the next day or few days I’m back to my normal. Haven’t needed antibiotics nor prednisone since starting dupixent. I’m pleased and my mds are too.
Do you feel Dupixent has helped with shortness of breath?? I’m expecting my first order later today. Am anxious
I’m on Dupixent. I talked to someone else who is on it also and they weren’t prescribed and told to carry an EpiPen either.
Which biologic are you taking?
I've been on Dupixent since October and have had no bad side affects. My prescribing doctor never mentioned carrying an EpiPen.
Hello. Well I finally got the nerve up to try the biologic. I got my first two shots loading dose today. Did your doctor prescribe and tell you to carry an EpiPen at all times? I was a bit surprised that I’m now supposed to carry it at all times not just for this first injections. Apparently there must be a pretty significant risk of a bad reaction the entire time a person is taking this drug if they’re saying to always carry an EpiPen, which I don’t like at all.
I agree that it makes the most sense and is safest to ask your MDs about any treatment issues and combo of treatments. I’m not sure how much research there is on having multiple biologics at the same time, but hopefully they will know or can research the issue. They could even call the manufacturer’s info line about questions.
Great to hear! Thank you.
I have not had any side effects since I have been on Tezspire. It has been a complete nonissue for me. Prior to being on Tezspire l was Nucala and l had no significant side effects with it. I just the injector pen for Tezspire. It is so easy to inject. When l first went on Nucala l was driving once a month to my pulmonologist office on the North side of Oklahoma City. About a 40 minute drive I heavy traffic. They started me on the Nucala pen to do myself and again no side effects. I know it keeps me out of the hospital.
That's an interesting question, @dianec48, about being on two biologics at once. That would be a great thing to ask your rheumatologist or primary care doctor.
