Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Liver size?

Hello everyone hope you’re all well 😊 I’ve been experiencing for long term 1/2 years of sever pain in my stomach and recently worse my cholesterol LDL 7.6 currently… and my legs both swell and are full of fluid my liver is 20.5 cm is that Normal or not please any help would be great these Australian doctors aren’t telling me anything I didn’t know cholesterol was that high meaning High Risk Cardiovascular Disease They are not putting my Health Records Online so I can’t see them but the tell me I’m a case study constant pain in abdomen and heart rate increases quickly… thanks guys 😊

My beautiful
daughter is 43. She has had several chemo treatments and was feeling better. Lately I see her tired and feeling some effects nows. I am constantly researching, and reaching out to find answers. She is seeing a Dr at one of the larger hospitals here. I just feel she is not getting her questions and concerns answered. The volunteers on this site are the best! Many blessings to you and stay strong! Let's keep fighting for answers! 🙏

My beautiful
daughter is 43. She has had several chemo treatments and was feeling better. Lately I see her tired and feeling some effects nows. I am constantly researching, and reaching out to find answers. She is seeing a Dr at one of the larger hospitals here. I just feel she is not getting her questions and concerns answered. The volunteers on this site are the best! That’s not good to hear I can sympathise also same happened to me also hopefully she picks up sooner than later for you and the family.. I’m in Australia 🇦🇺 and my questions never get answered and I’m not impressed with the way I’ve been treated by my specialists at all..🤔 I’m the 1 with the illness not them I feel they think they can walk on water ☹️ all the best for your daughter 🙂

I am so sorry about your daughter’s rare WM diagnosis. May I ask if she gad a bone marrow biopsy (BMB) prior to commencement of treatment? After a BMB, I was diagnosed with WM in 2014 and extremely thankful for the up-to-date educational support on the International Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation (IWMF).

Clinic is the best and John Hopkins in Baltimore.
We will find answers and we will keep reaching out to the support groups.
Dont give up hope, Take what you learn to your doctors and I pray they can help you.

"The liver is the largest organ in the human body. During development, liver size increases with increasing age, averaging 5 cm span at 5 years and attaining adult size by age 15. The size depends on several factors: age, sex, body size and shape, as well as the particular examination technique utilized (e.g., palpation versus percussion versus radiographic). By percussion, the mean liver size is 7 cm for women and 10.5 cm for men (Table 94.1). A liver span 2 to 3 cm larger or smaller than these values is considered abnormal. The liver weighs 1200 to 1400 g in the adult woman and 1400 to 1500 g in the adult man." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK421/#:~:text=By%20percussion%2C%20the%20mean%20liver,g%20in%20the%20adult%20man.

At 20.5 cm, your liver size can't be classifed as normal I wouldn't think.

While Waldenström's macroglobulinemia is a condition affecting the bone marrow, it can also affect the liver, lymph nodes, and spleen. An enlarged liver (hepatomegaly) is usually a sign of an underlying liver disease, congestive heart failure or cancer. I encourage you to get an appointment to have this investigated as soon as possible.

Thankyou for your reply I greatly appreciate it when I see my haematologist I’ve told her my pain and everything and nothings getting done by her at all I had a second opinion at Peter MacCallum last July and I don’t know what else to do or where to turn
