1 ReactionThats just 5-6 weeks, before it's approved and sent to radiology then I have to make an appointment with them which I will ask to be on a cancelations list.
Wow, hopefully that approval now in just a week or two. If you don’t here, get your Doctors office to call and tell them you need approval now.
That hear
I have called the office twice after two weeks I told her as soon as you see it approved let me know so I can schedule an mri. She said there normal approval takes 5-6 weeks. She said it should be any day now. I just want to find out as soon as possible if it's benign or not. Then what if you have to have an biopsy, and go through the same routine, it could drag on for two-three months.

1 ReactionNext week I will call again and stress that I want to get this resolved as soon as possible that will be week 5. Thanks for responding.
Welcome to "The waiting is the hardest part".
Been there... done that... Time actually flies by, believe it or not.
You'll look back on it like I did & the wait didn't seem too bad at all.
The good news is that things are being booked & you're making progress. It's better than being ignored or left in the dark.
Come back when you get the results & we'll all chime in with our in-no-way-qualified feedback.
Just for reference, I ended up with this:
It was a pleasure to see Peter today. He has a PI-RADS 4 lesion in the right apex, quite significant on the B2000 imaging. We have arranged a biopsy and will see him back with the results.
I went straight to Dr Google to see what PI-RADS 4 means.
Try and relax. Few things to consider is that prostate cancer is typically a slow moving cancer. The other thing is dre large non-nodular prostate. You higher PSA could be from BPH since no nodules were felt during DRE. Some PSA test results are different but for men over 60 I believe normal can be up to 4.0 so you are not that much higher. The higher normal for men over 60 is because most have BPH.
I checked with regence and it's approved so it shouldn't be long. I'm hoping for the best but if it is cancer hopefully it's caught early at a treatable stage. Thanks for responding
I was getting everything slow in the upper peninsula so I called up Mayo. They set everything up really fast. If you have a center of excellence for prostate cancer near you it may help.
