Hi @tweety1976, welcome to Connect. I'm sorry to hear that you've had such uncomfortable pain - are you able to tell me a little more about your symptoms? I'm not a doctor and therefore cannot provide a diagnosis, but I did want to leave this information on Vulvodynia I found that lists some of the same symptoms you're experiencing: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/vulvodynia/basics/symptoms/con-20020326

I would also strongly recommend that you discuss your symptoms with your gynecologist so that they can help diagnosis you and come up with a treatment plan. How long have you had this recurring pain?

My GYN recommended using: AQUAPHOR HEALING OINTMENT BABY ADVANCED THERAPY .. applying as many times a day as you need for comfort. It is NOT a remedy .. merely a comfort. Also changed to a clothes soap FREE OF FRAGRENCE/PERFUMES/DYES. Use VERY soft toilet tissue .. pat only .. not wipe. Zero soap in the immediate area while you shower .. water only until the irritation lessens .. using a very gentle soap like Ivory or such. Also .. ALWAYS blow dry the genital area after showering! That little step can help a lot of issues!

But please .. You do need to see you GYN .. it could be a variety of issues .. remember you are given only one body in this lifetime .. you need to take care of it so it can take care of you! Good luck!

I had a lot of Labia Majora pain, and my mayo ob/gyn prescribed a compounded salve consisting of Gabapentin and Petrolatum to be applied to the labia twice daily. This helped a lot, and after this the ob/gyn sent me to pelvic floor therapy and I was taught how to desensitize the Vulva area.

I am pretty free of pain these days.
