Vitamin K2-MK7

Posted by cpd54 @cpd54, Jan 18, 2024

I take Vitamin K2 in the form of MK4 and MK7 for osteoporosis. I’ve noticed that when I take the MK7 my eyes tend to be less dry. I can find no research on this. Has anyone else experienced this?
I have found research about K2 and dental health.

What dose of MK7 are you taking? I take 180 mcg, which is on the high side of dosing isn’t it?

I decided to remove the 1400 of D3 I currently take and substitute with K2+MK7. Sadly, even though I shared the information with the change in amount of D3 with my primary care doctor he was not sure if it would be a positive or not. To me it looks like a positive viable addition to my current vitamins along with my current TAA medications. I will request Vitamin D level blood test at my next physical in January. I hoping this will be a positive addition to my medications. Meanwhile my knee is always a work in progress so hopefully this will assist with some positive help for this senior (74).

@booklover71 I beleive that vitamin D3 is the best supplement that you can take. Most people in the US and Europe do not get enough by diet and sun exposure to ensure they are at the minimum value (range is 30 to 80 in blood testing). So be sure you get tested if you never have been. For example, I am 75 and I take 5000 IU every day and my tests show I am in the 60 to 70 range every year. So we tend to need a lot more than 1400 IU. There is evidence that D3 greatly reduces your risk of cancer (by something like 38%). It also tends to halt your immune system from going into a dangerous hyper-active mode (cytokine storm) if you should catch a virus like the flu or COVID.

@cynthianatalia Recently I just bought a large bottle of 200 mcg tablets of MK7 of the Bronson brand. Someone on the neuropathy forum had recomended it. It is on Amazon, At $20 I thought this was an exceptional deal.
