Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Let’s create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I’m making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I’m in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let’s take a daily break together.

Just went out into the 84 degree heat and picked the low hanging fruit from the wild raspberry bushes in the backyard. I had a yikes moment when a daddy longlegs jumped on my glasses. Will go nice on our brunch – homemade from scratch pancakes.

@llioness and @johnbishop, I'm laughing, Linda, at your response to John about the daddy longlegs and it reminded me of the very first "love letter" I received from my boyfriend, aged 9, while at our church camp in central Tx. I'd gone the week before and had written him. I still have his "letter" all about the daddy longlegs "spryder" cave exploration I'd experienced too. I hope my spelling was better than his, but who knows??? lol Much faded and in pencil, it holds an honored place in my "treasured box" of correspondence. While we learned at camp that the longlegs were harmless although large and all over the inside cave, it would have been a scary shock to me as well, John, for one to hop up on my glasses!!! Thanks to both of you for the post and the longlegs memory. FYI, we remained boy and girl friends until I introduced him to the "new girl in town" our freshman year of high school. While the "new girl" and I became friends, I lost a boyo in the process. However, she and I have continued to stay in touch and the exchange was worth the initial disappointment, right?

Last night saw the moon slowly "peeking up" from a beautiful mountain scene. Sorry no pics because my camera on my phone doesn't take good photos or maybe it's the photographer…oh well.

Good Luck on the person that puts corn on stick for the squirrels. I fed the squirrels when we lived in Bellevue WA and We got so many I had to stop. But, I did like it when I was doing it.
