Very blurry vision after vitrectomy with macular peel

I had a vitrectomy with a macular peel about 6 weeks ago. My surgeon said the retina is healing well. He did not mention any inflammation. He mentioned i do have a minimal cataract but indicated I do not need surgery yet. It's been about a week since I stopped my steroid drops. and my eye pressure is normal. I don't have any pain. My surgeon indicated all is well, but my vision is very blurry and has been for the last three weeks or so. I went to my eye doctor for new glasses and my prescription changed quite a bit for the worse in that eye. So my questions are:
- Will my sight improve, or is this my new normal?
- Could something have been overlooked?
- Is there anything else I should do?

The retina is still healing. It can take a year or more for the healing to complete. I was this way after my retina peel, but I developed CME that wouldn't stop and then steroid induced glaucoma. I had cataract surgery first, so that might have been the cause of the CME. Also, the lens implant after cataract surgery left me 2.25 diopters nearsighted. We don't know if it was a defective lens, a mismeasurement or someone else's lens! No one knows and nothing can be done for my vision at this point according to my doctors here and Bascom Palmer. I think it was about three months post surgery that my vision seemed to right itself. For a while, I could read text messages and larger than 12 point text. Then the unraveling started for me. That is not normal. Nothing with my eye has been normal. Give it two more months. I think you will see improvement. It's really slow.

I had a vitrectomy and epiretinal membrane peel (ERM) to resolve a macular pucker approximately 8 months ago. In my case, I was advised to have cataract surgery before the vitrectomy, and had it done. Originally, my doctor/surgeon told be healing/recovery would be any where from 6 weeks to 6 months. About 3 months after surgery, he said it could take up to 1 year. At my last check-in (6 month post surgery), he then said it could take up to 2 years. The doctor tells me the macular pucker/hole is closed, and the remaining distortion will be reduced as the connective tissue continues to grow, and that it is a very slow process. In the meantime, I see a flattened 'X' shape in the center of my vision.
